Public Works Department

 

There are 3(three) divisions:

  1. PWD Naharlagun Division
  2. Capital Division-A. PWD
  3. Capital Division-B. PWD

Roles and Responsibilities and Services provided:

  • Construction and maintenance of Roads, Bridges of Capital complex.
  • Construction and maintenance of Govt. buildings(Institutional/office and residential) in the state Capital except Power, PHE, WRD office buildings.
  • Construction and maintenance of Raj Bhawan, Secretariat buildings, and other buildings of General Administration.
  • Deposit works for construction of Other Non-PWD Govt. department/Public Autonomous bodies/ non-Govt.organizations.
  • Construction, maintenance and upkeepment of Bhawan/Guest House/Circuit House etc.
  • Construction and maintenance of Helipads.
  • Restoration works caused by calamities such as rain, fire, flood, landslide, wind etc.
  • Maintaining inventories of all Govt. Residential buildings located in capital Complex.
  • Implementation of Development works under District Administration funded under Untied Fund/Non-BADP/CMDI & CF/MPLADS/MLALADS.
  • Implementation of CSS Schemes such as RIDF/CIRF/NESIDS/NEC/SIDF etc.
  • Normal development works under road and building sector such as Budget Announcement schemes/Normal BE/State Funded SIDF/Normal RE Schemes/ CMCSRDP etc.
  • Arrangement on visit of VVIPS and state guests.
  • Preparation of concept paper for the project proposals under Central/State govt.
  • Preparation of Preliminary Estimates/Detailed Project Reports for obtaining Administrative Approval and Expenditure Sanction of the State/Central Govt.
  • Reports returns such as Annual Administrative Reports, Road Statics, Quarterly Progress Reports, Submission of Utilization Certificate etc.
  • Arrangement for Inaugurations/Site visits/Inspections by VVIPs/Higher Officers/Third Party Monitoring team and DLMC etc.
  • Matter related to selection/Survey and investigation of site for various government offices/institutions.
