A small Introduction on Itanagar Capital Jurisdiction

The Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Complex Office is one of the busiest DC-Office of the state. Currently, It is situated at Itanagar in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh. This DC Office has separate jurisdiction.
In the interest of public service, the Deputy Commissioner (City) was designated as Deputy Commissioner (Capital) in Arunachal Pradesh. The jurisdiction of the Deputy Commissioner (Capital) shall include the existing areas of Itanagar, Naharlagun and Banderdewa. Also, the following powers and functions as specified hereunder to the Deputy Commissioner (Capital) in the interest of administrative convenience.
The Deputy Commissioner (Capital) have all the powers and functions ordinarily enjoyed by all Deputy Commissioners. However, the DRDA, Office of District Election Officer and role of Session Judge comes with DC Papumpare while DUDA comes under the control of DC, Capital.
All officers and officials of line departments report to the respective Deputy Commissioners for the areas which falls within the jurisdiction of the respective Deputy Commissioner.
Itanagar is surrounded by beautiful mountains. This city sees annual long monsoon rains. It is best to visit from November to March. Polo Park and Zoo are the popular visitor places. The nearest airport is Lilabari in Assam and the nearest railway station is Harmuty 23 kms from here. Hindi, Assamese, Bengali and English are the main spoken languages of the town.
